SO WHAT IS THE BS BRACE?
The BS Brace is a strip of Duroplast material strengthened with fiberglass. It is used to correct nails with extreme curvature or ingrown nails. The thin strip is placed across the infected nail and produces a gentle lifting of the outside edges, bringing the nail back to a normal curvature over time.

Is the BS Brace new technology?
The BS Brace is an ingrown nail treatment that has been used successfully used worldwide in over 40 countries for 30 years. It can be used by anyone, including diabetics, but must be applied by a trained technician.
How long does it take to feel the effects of the Brace?
Shape and thickness of the nail will produce different results. Most patients begin to feel relief within 30 minutes. However, patients suffering from severely involuted (curled) nails, might not notice relief for approximately three days.
How long is the tension on the brace effective for?
The corrective force of the brace is good for 4 or 5 weeks. After this time, the brace may be removed and replaced. For some, one brace may be enough but for severe cases, it may take more than one brace to correct the problem. The range may be 1 - 4 applications depending on the severity of the condition.
Can I have an alergic reaction to the brace?
Since the brace is attached to the nail and not the skin, it is highly unlikely. In all the 30 years of the Brace being used, there have not been any reported incidents of allergic reactions.
How long after the Brace is applied can it tolerate water?
Generally 5 minutes after the last top coat is applied. It an be soaked in hot water or a shower. Your regular activities my be resumed.
Is the Brace a permanent solution for ingrown nails?
**Keep in Mind that every patient's condition is different, but the BS Brace works as a permanent solution for the majority of patients.
Can I still have a Brace installed if I have a Nail Fungus?
The answer is No! Braces should not be installed on a nail that is infected. If you are in doubt, please make an appointment for a consultation so I can assess the nail first.
